Along with Apsu, Tiamat is believed to be one of the two original beings. Together, they created the original gods of the multiverse. Their offspring Dahak created the mortal dragon race on the Material Plane, but did so to hunt them for sport. Apsu did not care for Dahak's destructive nature and chose to attempt to end his existence. Tiamat intervened by healing some of the wounded dragons so that Dahak could go free.[1]
