A large example of the blunderbuss family, a scattergun fires a blast of lead shot that can be quite ruinous at close range. The size difference means that the scattergun costs 800 GP more than its smaller cousin, weighing in at 2,200 GP for the 8 pound firearm. You need both hands empty to be able to use the scattergun, but the chance for a misfire has been corrected.[1]
