The remorhaz is an enormous centipede-like creature which makes its home in the frozen north of Golarion, preferring in particular the ice and snow of glaciers. When excited, its back gives off a tremendous heat which allows it to burrow with ease through the solid ice of glaciers, creating intricate tunnel mazes in the process.[1]

A remorhaz's body is covered in spiky and chitinous plates which offer great protection from attack. Is grows to around 25 feet in length, weighing upwards of 10,000 pounds. Tremendous fires are said to burn within the creature's body, which cause the outer plates to glow white hot when the remorhaz is in pain or excited. Dozens of insect-like legs propel it forward and also assist in burrowing underground.[2]

Remorhaz in GolarionEdit

These creatures are found in particular in the far north of Avistan. The Algid Wastes, a cold and inhospitable wasteland which form the border between the Hold of Belkzen and the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, is known to be home to countless of these "ghost worms" as the native orcs call them.[3] They are also found with some frequency in the Kodar Mountains of northern Varisia[4], the more southerly Fog Peaks of Taldor and Galt[5][6], and of course at the Crown of the World.[7]
