Defenders of the waterways and coast of Golarion Miengu wield water like deadly weapons using it to protect their home against any who would despoil it.

Miengu look like lithe, beautiful women comprised entirely of cool, clear water that flows and ripples like a river. Further adding to the miengu's strange, fey appearance is her extra set of arms that sprout from below her first set. Around the miengu orbit daggers made of water, despite their liquid construction these knives are razor sharp. Below the waist the miengu turns from human into a twisting spout of water. Despite its lithe appearance miengu only stands five and a half feet tall and thanks to their watery composition they weigh more than a fully armoured dwarf. The watery composition does have an advantage to it as it renders it immune to certain attacks that would effect more fleshy fey. Miengu are universally female, the biggest [1]

Habitat & EcologyEdit

Miengu are spirits of the water who dwell in the most serene water features from stunning desert oases to beautiful jungle rivers. While most seem to favour warm climates like tropical coasts or desert oases there are report of miengu guarding cold coves and pristine arctic coasts. Miengu regard themselves as protectors of their home and all that is pure and innocent, as fey this includes things like pure water, small animals, delicate flowers and beautiful gardens as much as innocent people. Miengu often disguise their chosen territory under a veil of illusions using them to asses whether an intruder's intentions are good or evil, they then use the illusions to trick evil doers into the path of danger.[2]

Miengu may be fey and therefore capricious and unpredictable but they are serious defenders of nature, while they dwell in only a single location they are not magically linked to this site unlike other fey like nymphs or dryads. Miengu often become staunch crusaders against evil and protectors of the weak, with the home of benevolent miengu often becoming the sight of pilgrimages. Miengu are only too happy to attack races that despoil the natural environment like ogres, goblins and sahuagin taking a very active role in defence of nature. Some miengu even adopt nearby tribes as their charges although such relationship rarely end well, over time most tribes lose their respect for the natural wonders they dwell near causing the fey to come into conflict with their former wards. Inevitably relations between these strange fey and people are strained and in modern times miengu have become more reclusive, fewer and fewer people can now claim to have actually encountered one.[2]
