Craig J. Spearing is the son of an exploration geologist and a historian and grew up in Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, and New Mexico. After attending the Rhode Island School of Design, he became a professional illustrator in 1995 and has maintained a career in the field ever since. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and two children.
