Baphomet (pronounced BAPH-oh-meh)[1], Lord of the Minotaurs, rules over the Abyssal realm known as the Ivory Labyrinth.[2] A favored consort of Lamashtu,[3] he was created by her as the first minotaur to lead her creations in the mortal world.[2]
Appearance[]
Baphomet appears as a demonic minotaur, massive in size, with unnaturally large horns and viciously sharp teeth. In battle, he carries a magical glaive crafted from a peculiar red adamantine.[3]
Cult & Worshipers[]
Despite Lamashtu's role as creator of the minotaurs, many choose Baphomet over her as their patron. Increasingly, he is also venerated by humans, especially in rural areas where his secretive cults draw followers from those formerly faithful to Erastil.[3] In more urban areas, his cults are organized into secret societies along family lines, and have existed for generations. Members of these societies refer to themselves as Templars of the Ivory Labyrinth, and as an organization wield no small amount of political power.[2]
