Talkheader : User talk:Yoda8myhead/Archive == double-click to edit == Mark, you mentioned here, something about double-clicking to edit. That's a new one to me. Were you able to double-click a link to edit it? Somewhere on the page to edit the current page? Aeakett 16:53, October 10, 2010 (UTC) :OK, I think I have a tiny javascript snippet that should do what you want. Now I just need to find where we're supposed to put our user-specific javascript. When I find that out, I'll let you know. For the record, the .js snippet is: $("body").bind("dblclick", function(){window.location=window.location+'?action=edit';}); :-Aeakett 01:39, October 11, 2010 (UTC) Just wanted to apologize for messing up so much over the past week. Legal text almost invites one to skim over the tough bits, and, unfortunately, that's what happened, causing me to miss some of the important parts. If there's anything I can do to help clean up, just send me a message, and I'll put it at the top of my to-do list. TheEldritchMrShiny 17:45, October 10, 2010 (UTC) == Easier on the eyes? == Mark, copy the contents of User:Aeakett/wikia.css to User:Yoda8myhead/wikia.css and see if that helps your eye strain any. -Aeakett 14:06, October 15, 2010 (UTC) Did it help at all? βAeakett 14:54, October 18, 2010 (UTC) == Thanks == Hey there, Alrite I understand alittle bit better now about how the wiki actually works. Do you have to delete my new information now cause I don't really know how? I'll start working on actually citing references for what I write but I do understand I can't just be filling in things that the books say isn't true. Thanks for clearing me up on this and if you have any advice on how to start integrating new topics into the wiki then please let me know. I'm a much more creative person who likes to use the box as a starting block for the rest of my ideas. Have a good one, Seero == Just checking in == Hello. I got your automatic welcome and thought I'd let you know that I'm not editing the substance of any articles yet, just caving in to my compulsion to correct improper spelling and grammar. (And despite being American, I know enough to leave British variations alone.) Also, I should note that I'm not very tech savvy, and this is the first time I've done this much on a wiki. Veltalcora 04:32, October 27, 2010 (UTC) == We're moving! == Hi, this is an automated message from the wiki's administrators. Recently, it became clear that we as a community weren't as "in-charge" of our own destiny as we'd like. Because of that, we've decided to move to a new host for the wiki that we are completely in control of. Our new home is at pathfinderwiki.com. You are welcome to keep contributing to this site, but many of of the community's members have already made the decision to move, and we hope you'll join us. All edits made before November 3, 2010 have been moved over automatically, and we will continue to grow the wiki at pathfinderwiki.com. If you decide to join us (and again, we hope you do), you'll need to make an account at pathfinderwiki.com. If you use the same username as you used here, your user page and edit history will be there waiting for you. Things may be a little messy looking at pathfinderwiki.com for a bit while we get settled in, but we hope you'll join us. How do I can permission to use the picture runestone for a brochure in Australia 121.217.155.156 07:11, January 20, 2012 (UTC) == Advertising == Hi. Please don't leave messages advertising your new wiki on this one, including on users' talk pages. You're welcome to stick around here if you'd like to continue being a productive contributor, but not if you're only here to promote your new wiki. Thanks. - <font color="#1A2BBB">Brandon Rhea</font><staff /><font color="#1A2BBB">(talk)</font> 21:31, April 24, 2012 (UTC) : Really? Advertising? Seems a funny thing to call it given the spam that clutters every Wikia page on the wiki. : If someone clearly wants to be a productive member of a community cataloguing Pathfinder Campaign Setting canon, I see it as my duty both as this project's creator and a member of Paizo Publishing's editorial staff to inform them where there is such a community, regardless of where that community exists. : I remain here because I want to make sure that this largely-abandoned wiki does not reflect poorly on the Pathfinder Campaign Setting, Pathfinder brand, or Paizo Publishing, who owns all the intellectual property used on this site. The terms of the Community Use Policy which allow Wikia to host this intellectual property in the first place require that editors of this wiki (and, by extension, Wikia) maintain standards of quality befitting the brand. As such, I feel that having someone with admin access to the wiki (whether you deem them a "productive contributor" or not) who understands the legal implications of letting it fill up with spam and generally giving a poor impression of the content on which the wiki is based would be in your best interest, regardless of whether or not that person is also informing someone who is clearly a Pathfinder fan that the rest of the community has moved to another site. : No one's claiming a user can't edit here. In fact, I'd love to see this not be such a blemish when people do Google searches for Pathfinder content. I'd love it if Wikia were easier to work with in order to keep our project here. But the community felt otherwise, and trying to lock us out of the project because we're simply letting someone else know that they're editing here alone, is pretty low. It's also indicative of why our project decided it was worth the extra cost and effort to move somewhere else. : If you think this is worth discussing further, feel free to email me at [mailto:mark.moreland@paizo.com my Paizo.com email] —yoda8myhead 21:59, April 24, 2012 (UTC) == Removal of Admin Rights == Hello, Wikia recently became aware that bot software, operated by you and thus viewed as an extension of this account, has been mass deleting legitimate pages on this wiki for the last few months. By any standard this is unacceptable administrative behaviour and the fact that you are an administrator on a community that forked and thus now is in competition with this Wikia community makes this even more unacceptable. I have gone ahead and rollbacked this wiki to the point it was before these deletions started. I do see that these deletions were explained by some sort of licensing drive you organized. f some content on the wiki infringes the copyright of any third party, it is up to the rights holders to inform us via the takedown procedures outlined in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Aside from any conflicts of interest that may arise from the fact that you currently run a forked community, only the copyright holder is empowered under the DMCA to demand removal of the content, not a third party. Only the rights holder is in a position to decide when a particular use infringes their copyright, and they are required to consider elements like fair use when they make their determination. If there are copyright issues, Paizo is welcome to contact us at copyright@wikia.com. At this time, I am going to remove your administrative powers at this wiki. It is clear that you have decided to use them in a harmfulway to this community and it is best to focus on the resource you are currently involved with instead of tampering with one you no longer have an active interest in. Please do not attempt to influence the operations of this wiki any further. I will be willing to answer any questions you have but this decision of removing your rights and asking you to stay away from this wiki is final. --DaNASCAT<staff /> <small>(help forum | blog)</small> 19:11, April 3, 2013 (UTC) : I am a full-time employee of Paizo Publishing, and serve as the company's Continuity Coordinator, and as such do have a continued interest in this community. I have had many conversations with the owner of the company regarding Wikia's lack of response and action when our Chief Technology Officer contacted the company regarding these licensing and copyright issues. Thus, when removing content from the site, I was acting as a representative of Paizo Publishing. Fair Use permits the discussion of real-life products (like a review of a book, movie, or piece of artwork), but not the inclusion of copyrighted intellectual property contained within those products themselves. Wikia's approach to using Paizo-owned content in violation of the company's established licenses even after being contacted with a takedown notice left me no choice. Rather than delete the entire wiki, we aimed to keep up the content that was covered under Fair Use. Since most articles on the wiki were not so covered, and violated the terms of Paizo's Community Use Policy by appending additional licenses to the content, they were removed. :Rather than continue this discussion here, where you've proven in other threads that you have no qualms about removing discussions—thus invalidating the concept of a paper trail regarding any decisions reached by the community—please continue any discussion you wish to have on the topic with me via email at mark.moreland@paizo.com. —yoda8myhead (talk) 19:49, April 3, 2013 (UTC) ::I have outlined the methods required to contact our legal department - that is to contact us at copyright@wikia-inc.com - if there is a licensing issue at stake. Please have your company contact us through that email address if they wish to discuss the matter with Wikia. In fact, a Victor Wertz from Paizo has previously contacted us about this wiki and its licensing, you may wish to ask him where this issue is in his and Paizo's mind as the last reply was from Wikia to Paizo and we have not heard anything since. --DaNASCAT<staff /> <small>(help forum | blog)</small> 20:47, April 3, 2013 (UTC) I edited your user page and I know that is unusual so I thought I ought to explain myself. the link i removed automatically redirected to a spam page and i figured this was unintentional so i changed it. if i am in error I apologize in advance. == Yeti Picture == Hi, Yoda8myhead, you posted an artwork of a yeti on one of your posts:Β http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/pathfinder/images/d/d2/Yeti.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20080608164023 I would like to know if I could use it on a skin for a gun on a very popular game called Counter Strike: Global Offensive, or CS:GO fo short. I want to know if I could use the picture on one of the skins for a gun Im making, called the Yeti, which I think would make it look sooo much better with the picture. The way the skin system works is that any person can make a skin, upload to a thing called workshop, and the best get put into the game. It is non-profit, so you won't be recieving any money for it. It is included in this project under the terms of Paizo Publishing, LLC's Community Use Policy, and thus is not something I can grant permission to use elsewhere. If you'd like to use the art, please refer to http://paizo.com/paizo/about/communityuse for full information on reusing this and other pieces owned by Paizo. βyoda8myhead (talk) 20:15, February 25, 2016 (UTC)
